Heather Hesslink is dedicated to fostering inclusive communities where everyone feels valued and empowered. As a first-generation college student, her journey navigating the transition from high school to higher education inspired her commitment to removing barriers to access and fostering opportunities for success for all. Heather brings extensive experience in DC Charter Schools with a proven track record in operational excellence and promoting inclusive practices. She also has over 20 years of experience as a technical editor helping researchers, particularly those for whom English is a second language, share their innovative research with the world.

Heather's blend of operational acumen, commitment to equity, and passion for helping others drives her to make a meaningful impact in the communities she serves. She holds a master’s degree from Yale University (Graduate School of Arts & Sciences) and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Washington.
